hCG Diet Recipes: Spaghetti

As you know, a successful diet means maintaining a lifestyle change. This simple, flavorful recipe for spaghetti meets all those requirements.
hCG Happy Spaghetti
1 Serving
1 pkg of Shirataki Konjac noodles (hCG diet recipe approved)
100g of your choice very lean protein: chicken or beef is recommended
2 green onions, diced with whites and greens separated
1 large or 2 small ripe tomatoes, chopped
1 t tomato paste
¼ t dried oregano
¼ t dried basil
Pinch fennel
1 t red wine vinegar
½ pkg approved sweetener
½ t olive oil
To prepare:
Rinse the noodles in water for at least one minute. Place the noodles in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
Barely coat a saucepan with olive oil—just enough to keep onions from sticking and burning. Sweat the onions at medium low heat until translucent. Remove the onions. Cook the ground, chopped or diced protein and thoroughly. Place meet on a paper towel to drain.
Return the pan to the heat and add the vinegar to deglaze the pan. Add the tomatoes to the pan and cook until they barely begin to break down. Add the spices, tomato paste and sweetener. Bring to a simmer. Return the meat to the pan. Simmer for at least 3 minutes (longer if you wish), adding water if needed to keep sauce loose. Add the drained noodles and cook on a lower temperature to impart flavor to the noodles.
Serve topped with the chopped onion greens.
Since this recipe is made with noodles that have very few calories but are high in fiber while being completely water soluble, this recipe is a great way to have your hCG diet recipe spaghetti and eat it too!
